Heat Press Instructions
Proper application is critical to ensure your transfers adhere correctly, look clean, and last over time. Follow these instructions carefully for best results. Press settings may vary slightly depending on your heat press and garment type, so always test if needed.
Recommended Heat Press Settings
- Temperature: 300–320°F
- Pressure: Medium to firm
- Time: 10–15 seconds
These settings work for most fabrics including cotton, polyester, and blends.
Step-by-Step Application
-
Pre-Press the Garment
Press the garment for 3–5 seconds to remove moisture and wrinkles. This helps improve adhesion. -
Position the Transfer
Place the transfer in the desired location with the design facing up. Make sure it is aligned properly before pressing. -
Apply Heat Press
Press at the recommended temperature, pressure, and time. Ensure even pressure across the entire design. -
Peel the Film
Allow the transfer to cool slightly, then peel the film in a smooth, steady motion. If the design lifts, repress for a few more seconds. -
Post-Press (Important)
Cover the design with parchment paper or a Teflon sheet and press again for 5–10 seconds. This improves durability and finish.
Fabric Compatibility
- Works on cotton, polyester, and poly blends
- Suitable for light and dark garments
- Avoid applying to materials that cannot handle heat
Washing Instructions
- Wait 24 hours before washing
- Wash inside out using cold water
- Avoid bleach and harsh detergents
- Tumble dry low or air dry for best results
Common Mistakes to Avoid
- Using too low temperature or pressure
- Not pre-pressing the garment
- Peeling too early or too aggressively
- Skipping the post-press step
- Uneven pressure across the design
Important Notes
- Every heat press is different—settings may need slight adjustments
- Always test before full production if using a new garment or press
- Proper application ensures strong adhesion, clean finish, and long-lasting results
